2024 Autumn Exhibition – call for entries

The Dartmoor Collective is excited to announce our third open exhibition, taking place at Manor Street Galleries in Plymouth from 18th – 27th October 2024.

Open call for submissions

Following on from the success of our two exhibitions at Poltimore House, Exeter, in 2022 and 2023, which in total featured over 250 works by 40 artists, we are looking for submissions for our 2024 Autumn Exhibition in Plymouth from any visual artists whose work focuses on Dartmoor.

There is no theme for the exhibition, other than Dartmoor, but we would prefer artists to develop their own themes and therefore request that you must be able to submit a minimum of three pieces for exhibition. The maximum number of pieces is six, but we may consider exceptions for series consisting of more than this. Pieces can be any size or shape.

We will consider all 2D visual art forms, from both professionals and enthusiastic amateurs, including photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, film and video.

One of the core aims of The Dartmoor Collective is to build a community of artists and members of the public, so this exhibition is intended to be very much a community-based event, with opportunities for artists and the public to meet each other and take part in activities. We are planning talks, Q&As and workshops by small groups of artists during the exhibition, so please let us know on the form below if you would be interested to co-host one.

Manor Street Galleries is a relatively new venue just off Union Street, just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Plymouth. Opened last April, it has already gained a reputation as a vibrant and community-focused venue. As well as the gallery space, the Momus café and bar are open day and evening, and there is additional space for workshops and events. Plymouth has very active established and grassroots arts scenes, and three universities (including one specialist arts university) running a wide range of arts and other courses.
