I’ve lived on Dartmoor for 7 years and recently got into photography as a way to combat my mental health.
There’s no other feeling quite like wandering the moors chasing the light with my camera and my dogs. No matter the weather there is always such an enchanting feeling on Dartmoor, especially in the quietness of an early morning.
As well as landscapes, my favourite subject to photograph is the livestock on our Dartmoor farm and across the moorlands.
I want to share the beauty of rare Devon breeds, such as the Ruby Red Cattle, White-faced Dartmoor Sheep and of course, the Dartmoor Pony.
I’m still relatively new to photography and have a lot to learn and improve, but for me it’s more than taking photos, It’s an escape from the busy-ness of life, immersing myself entirely into the natural beauty around me.
